Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton's exes respond very differently to romance rumors
Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale have heard all the same rumors about Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton as the rest of us, and one of them is being much more reasonable about the whole situation.
Rumors about The Voice coaches Stefani and Shelton dating have been floating around since shortly after Stefani announced her split from Rossdale, but things heated up after photos of the pair canoodling at Adam Levine's Halloween party surfaced yesterday. Their exes are not immune to the celebrity gossip machine and have heard the whispers too — and their reactions could not be more different.
Lambert is pretty matter-of-fact about the whole thing, according to insiders, who say the coupling is not entirely unexpected.
"She was not surprised to hear of the romance between Blake and Gwen. They were always pretty flirty," a source told E! News. "Miranda and Blake were on the rocks on and off, and knew that this could always be a possibility.
"Blake is just a flirty kind of charmer," the source continued. "She has nothing against Gwen and thinks she is a very talented artist. Whomever Blake is with, she wishes them the best."
Rossdale, however, is not taking it quite so well. Despite the fact that his split from Stefani was reportedly caused by his fling with their nanny, he is reportedly "disgusted that Gwen is acting like a lovestruck teenager," an insider told Radar Online. "It's unflattering for a 46-year-old mother of three.
"Gavin believes Gwen is using the divorce to promote her new album for sales, and dating one of the biggest country music stars certainly will help boost the bottom line," the source said.
And the couple had "hoped to keep things amicable, but they are no longer communicating," the source claimed. "Any discussion about the kids is being done through the nanny or email." We assume this is not the same nanny that Rossdale allegedly schtupped.
Rossdale is trying to spin his jealousy into concern for the kids, and the source said he's telling people he is "concerned that the kids are going to get very upset if Gwen starts spending a lot of time with Blake so quickly after the divorce."
But the source also revealed the truth behind Rossdale's ugly green monster: "There is a lot of jealousy that Gwen has moved on so quickly, and Gavin is very insecure about his career as a musician too," the source said. "Having his wife get involved with a huge star like Blake is certainly a blow to Gavin's ego."
Rossdale might want to build a bridge and get over it, because by the sounds of Stefani's song "Used To Love You," she doesn't care about his precious little feelings anymore.
