Rosie O’Donnell and her daughter Chelsea are dealing with a rift no parent ever wants to have with their child, and it will only get deeper after Rosie hears Chelsea’s bitter words.
Chelsea hit the news in August after Rosie reported her missing. Rosie claims Chelsea ran away to be with a much older boyfriend with a criminal record, while Chelsea maintains she was kicked out. In a new interview with Inside Edition, she explains her side of the story, but one thing she says is awful.
Chelsea dropped a bombshell that is sure to break Rosie’s heart: She doesn’t love her mom.
“I care about her and I hope she’s doing well. But love is a big word and I wouldn’t really use that,” she said.
Ouch. That’s gotta hurt.
Chelsea also reiterated that she only left the family home over the summer when Rosie told her to leave, basically saying that she did not run away, rather that Rosie kicked her out. This is pretty much the same story she told the Daily Mail earlier this month.
“She got upset with me because I wouldn’t talk to her,” she claimed. “And said she was getting all that stuff at work and didn’t need it at home and to take my dog and ‘have a nice life.'”
“Some of the things that have happened in the last few months I can’t get over or forgive her for; kicking me out of the house, putting it out that I’m mentally unstable,” Chelsea explained, referring to Rosie’s claim that her daughter suffers from a mental illness.
“I’m not mentally ill,” Chelsea told Inside Edition. “I’m in a good place in my life… Yeah I have anxiety and depression but I’m not a crazy person.”
Rosie’s only comment on Chelsea’s interview was to point out how badly she is contradicting herself by having the discussion at all after telling fans she didn’t want to talk about her famous mom.
