Days of Our Lives actor arrested for allegedly trying to punch a bartender
A soap opera actor faces serious charges after a Monday arrest.
Police say Casey Allen Moss, a 21-year-old actor on the popular soap opera Days of Our Lives, was arrested early Monday morning after he attempted to punch a bartender in Scottsdale, Arizona.
According to police reports, officers responded to a call about an assault at the W Scottsdale Hotel at around 12:30 a.m., where they found Moss drunk and belligerent. Police say he started the altercation with the bartender after he was cut off from drinking any more alcohol.
Police said Moss initially just argued with the bartender, but was restrained by a friend as he did so. Eventually, he broke away and reportedly tried to punch the bartender but missed. Later on, he allegedly shoved another staff member and was tackled by a bouncer to stop his violent tirade.
An ABC affiliate local to Scottsdale reports that when police arrived, handcuffed Moss and attempted to lead him out of the bar, he yelled, “I’m Casey Moss and I’m an actor on Days of Our Lives!” before attempting to escape. Officers reportedly had to tackle the actor to the ground to stop him.
Moss was booked into the Scottsdale jail with no injuries reported and he faces charges of assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Moss joined Days of Our Lives in 2013 as J.J. Deveraux. Moss was in Scottsdale as part of a book tour promoting Days of our Lives: 50 Years, a photo book commemorating the soap opera’s 50th anniversary this year. Show producers haven’t commented on Moss’ arrest and his social media accounts have been quiet, save for a couple of retweets of fans of the book.
