DWTS alum announces broken engagement in heartbreaking Instagram post
The proposal may have been what fairy-tale dreams are made of, but there will be no happily ever after for DWTS' Noah Galloway and Jamie Boyd.
After a surprise proposal on live TV when he was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, Galloway and Boyd made the media rounds talking about their wedding plans — but that celebration is not happening. Galloway, a double-amputee Iraq War veteran, broke the news on Instagram.
"After long and careful consideration we've decided to end our engagement," he wrote alongside a photo of the couple of a sunny beach. "We love each other deeply and we're confident we will remain friends. While we wanted to share this you, we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."
Boyd shared a similar message. "After long and careful consideration, Noah and I have decided to end our engagement. We love each other deeply and we're confident we will remain friends," she wrote. "We can't thank you enough for all your unwavering love and support. It has meant, and means, so much to us so we wanted to share this with you firsthand. This is a very difficult time and we appreciate y'all for respecting our privacy as we go through this."
Fans are shocked at the heartbreaking news.
"How can you go on an amazing vacation such as Walt Disney(the happiest place on earth) and come back and say your [sic] calling off the engagement :( I'm sorry to hear about that," wrote yanlivette21.
"I'm sad but happy you guys decided it wasn't the best before the wedding, best of luck to both of you," said brauer147.
"@noahgallowayathlete calling off my engagement was the hardest decision I had to make... Okay not gonna lie I called off like 3 engagements!!!! Hey don't judge ;)," shared sassyshurr. "but you both have to follow your hearts and trust The Lord! Praying for you both and everything happens for a reason!!"
Whatever happened must have happened pretty recently, since the pair's Instagram accounts show they were in fact vacationing at Disney just a week ago, as the above fan pointed out.
We will probably never learn what really happened, but regardless, we wish these two peace and love for the future.
