Sarah Michelle Gellar: Let's make baking a family bonding experience again
I cannot believe BlogHer Food is only two weeks away! I am honored and thrilled to be speaking this year about one of my favorite topics. Many of you may have seen my weekly Instagram challenges, where I’ve been sharing food-themed photos and encouraging you to do the same. I wanted to take the chance in this first post to talk about my latest venture and how it came to be.
My team and I have officially launched Foodstirs, a culinary lifestyle brand that includes our original baking mixes (all made with better-for-you ingredients), creative baking kits and even apparel and tools. Our inspiration for Foodstirs was being frustrated by both the ingredients usually found in baking mixes, plus constantly being overwhelmed by the challenges of execution. Created by myself and my two partners (and good friends), Galit Laibow and Gia Russo, we are looking to modernize baking. After realizing all the rewards of truly "unplugging" and connecting with our family and friends in the kitchen, we knew we had to find a way to make this experience available for everyone.
I could go on and on about Foodstirs (and I am sure I will), but I also wanted to take this opportunity to say how welcomed I feel by the BlogHer community. This last year of creating and running a company with two women has been beyond inspiring. I have always believed when women work together, we can do anything! I love that there is a place like this for all of us to share and encourage each other.
I cannot wait to see all of you in Chicago.
