On Wednesday, Entertainment Weekly announced that Adam Croasdell will play Hook's dad. Croasdell is best known for his role on EastEnders, but he's also appeared on Supernatural, NCIS and Hot in Cleveland, among many others. There aren't too many details being released about his character, but here are six things that have been revealed.

1. He'll appear before the winter break

As OUAT creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis announced at New York Comic Con, Hook's father will show up in the episode before the long winter break.

2. He abandoned Hook

The biggest detail fans know about Hook's dad is that he abandoned him in the middle of the night. It doesn't sound like Hook and his dad had the best relationship.

3. His name could be Davy Jones

Hook's dad's name has yet to be unveiled, but seeing as Hook's real name is Killian Jones, does that mean his father is Davy Jones?

4. He'll appear in flashbacks

Hook's dad won't show up in real time or in Storybrooke (or so it seems), but he will be seen in flashbacks, TVLine reports.

5. His episode will feature a Hook/Evil Queen adventure

In addition to the flashbacks, the episode will include an "adventure with Hook and the Evil Queen," Horowitz told TVLine. Anyone else excited to see Hook and Regina joining forces?

6. He'll appear alongside child Hook

Hook's dad will appear in an episode "examining the character's childhood," TVLine also reports. Kitsis also confirmed, "We’ll see Hook as a little boy." Fans know how cute Hook is as an adult, so just imagine him as a child.

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8/7c on ABC.
