While Pretty Little Liars fans have spent the last couple of months recovering (either from excitement or disappointment, depending on your viewpoint) from the show’s last season finale, the cast has been busy at work on Season 6B. This week, the stars finally wrapped filming on the second half of the season — which will flash forward five years into the future — and they celebrated by posting a ton of great behind-the-scenes pictures from the set.
With the true identity of A now (finally!) revealed, the second half of the season will pick up after college, following Ali, Hanna, Aria, Emily and Spencer as they figure out their post-grad future. As audiences will remember from the last season finale, at least a couple of the girls — including Ali, who stayed behind in Rosewood — are engaged or married, while several of the others are busy pursuing their careers. The entire group is brought back together after a major event forces everyone back to town.
Fans have been looking forward to seeing what the time jump will bring for some time now, so it’s exciting to learn that the season has wrapped. But I also can’t help but feel a little nostalgic. After all, can you believe that PLL has been on air for six whole years already?
From the looks of things, the cast feels the same way. To celebrate the end of their work on Season 6, many of the show’s stars, like Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario and Tyler Blackburn, shared some emotional snapshots from their final filming days on Instagram. The photos, seen below, are guaranteed to remind you why you love this show. Check them out:
Hale, who plays Aria, shared this photo that reminisces on the early days of the show. So cute!
Bellisario aka Spencer dedicated this sweet message to Hale.
Blackburn, who comprises half of one of the show’s most beloved couples, Haleb, posted this pic with the fellow PLL guys Ian Harding and Keegan Allen and PLL showrunner I. Marlene King.
Janel Parrish, who plays Mona, celebrated the end of filming with Sasha Pieterse (aka Ali) and director Roger Kumble.
Keegan Allen took a selfie with King and his co-stars.
King shared the most revealing picture: a snapshot of the Liars shooting their new opening sequence. As the picture shows, the Liars are still dressed in all black. But this time around, Ali stands with the rest of the group (not in a coffin!) and all five girls, not just Hale, will get their chance to “shh” the camera. Looks like it really is a new beginning!
