Gretchen Rossi thinks Vicki Gunvalson maybe should've thought twice about saying nasty things to her back in the day.

Rossi might not be in the thick of the drama now, but that isn't stopping her from weighing in on the controversy surrounding Gunvalson’s on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, and the questions surrounding his cancer diagnosis.

If we go deep into the Housewives vault, we will find a plethora of history between Rossi and Gunvalson, and much vinegar being spit from the latter regarding her handling of her relationships.

In 2009, Rossi tragically lost her then-fiancé to cancer. Gunvalson hurled criticism Rossi’s way over her appearance on the show during his illness, thinking that it was inappropriate for her to be filming while he was sick. Gunvalson even accused Rossi of infidelity.

Fast-forward to the present, and Gunvalson’s own life is now being affected by cancer, as Ayers is now battling the disease himself. Rossi has this to say to The Daily Dish following her show at New York Fashion Week, "What’s interesting is that so many people still tweet and Instagram me about what’s going on. [People say], 'How do you feel that she's doing the show even though she said that you should not be on a TV show if you have cancer in your family?' So I get that all day long."

Rossi is happily engaged to longtime love Slade Smiley, but did offer Gunvalson some advice from one Housewife to another. "My advice is, first of all, don’t judge somebody like she did back in the day with me, because you never know if you’ll end up in that position and unfortunately, it’s kind of one of those things where if you judge somebody and you have so much to say… she had so much to say about whether or not I should be on a TV show when someone I loved had cancer, and now she’s going through all of the exact same things I went through."

And even though there is clearly no love lost, she did wish the embattled Housewife well, saying, “My second suggestion is, don’t care what anybody says. If you love him and you want to be with him, go with your heart. That’s all that matters at the end of the day. Not what any of the girls say, not what the world says. When you go to bed at night, it that’s the man you love and the person who makes you happy... that’s what you need to focus on."
