That is, if her husband hadn’t had a change of heart about the reality TV drama. As one of the newer cast members, we are now learning she almost lost her husband to make her reality TV debut happen at all.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Rinna said, “Before Season 5 started of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, I had a meeting with the producers to do maybe another show. What came out of the meeting was, maybe I should do The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
Which would have been all fine and dandy, if she could talk her husband into it. She continued, “I thought, ‘Oh God, Harry’s never gonna go for this. He never will.'”
And she was — kinda — right.
Her husband, Harry Hamlin, balked at the idea and was initially vehemently opposed. He gave Rinna an ultimatum: me or the show.
She recalls him saying, “Nope. I’ll divorce you. If you do it, I’ll divorce you.'” She remembers responding, “‘OK, done. No more conversations, done.’ Walked out of the room, that was that. I was fine with it.”
But it seemed that with some soul-searching, Hamlin came around. Rinna said, “He comes back to me in like two days, and said, ‘You know, I’ve thought about it, I’ve done some research.’ Harry being a really, really smart businessman himself, said, ‘It’s a good thing, it’ll work for you, you should do it.'”
