Carly Waddell releases 'statement' about her Bachelor in Paradise breakup
It was one of the most unexpected reality TV breakups we've ever seen.
When Kirk DeWindt dumped Carly Waddell on last night's Bachelor in Paradise, we just didn't see it coming. Neither did she.
"You broke my heart. I don't want to talk to you ever again," a stunned and visibly heartbroken Waddell told DeWindt on Sunday's episode before leaving the show.
Waddell and DeWindt had one of the longest-running and seemingly most stable relationships this season. They hit it off and coupled up almost immediately on the first episode, and while DeWindt expressed some doubts about their relationship about halfway through the season, he quickly voiced his supposed realization that he shouldn't be so quick to let go of a good thing. The couple seemed so rock solid, in fact, that some fans of the show thought that drama was forced by producers to add some intrigue to Waddell and DeWindt's relationship.
Now that the season is over, Waddell is speaking out about her sudden and unexpected heartbreak in a unique way: She wrote a song for her Bachelor in Paradise ex and posted it to her SoundCloud Sunday.
"No good reason why. Faster than I could blink, you gave up everything. It was just over, already behind my shoulder," Waddell sings in the song that she calls "Blindsided." "Love, I thought I found you, but it wasn't enough. Wishes don't come true when you run from the very spark that you ignited — blindsided."
She continues, "I may have said too much too soon, you weren't in any rush so you rushed away. It's a game play. There was no caution sign, no reading between the lines and nothing behind your eyes, that's for sure."
Fans have been commenting on the song, sharing their shock over the surprising breakup, as well.
"The angst in your voice is palpable... great song! From the heart!" one fan wrote.
