RHONJ twins talk about how Ashley Madison ruined lives
The recent Ashley Madison scandal has caused marital drama for a variety of reality stars, including Josh Duggar and Kristen Taekman. Although the RHONJ stars were not directly involved with the recent Ashley Madison drama, they are familiar with the devastation caused by infidelity, as they made clear during their latest podcast.
The concept of the girl code has been discussed extensively on The Real Housewives of Orange County and The Real Housewives of New York City, but now, two of the biggest stars from The Real Housewives of New Jersey are also eager to weigh in.
As she recently admitted on the most recent edition of the Girls in Heels podcast, Nicole Napolitano was very disappointed to learn of the many men and women who were exposed in the recent Ashley Madison hack. Although she did not share her opinion as to whether or not these names should have been revealed, she did claim that the scandal was a prime example of the willingness of today's women to break the girl code.
According to Nicole, many broken marriages could be avoided if women refused to go after married men. Although the reality star believes that some blame lies with the many guys who have cheated on their wives, she also feels that it is the responsibility of single women to only date unattached guys. Unfortunately, many single gals have admitted to actually preferring married men. Naturally, this preference causes a lot of marital drama. As Nicole points out, many married women also are involved in affairs with married men... and not the men who accompanied them down the aisle. Nicole would like to see a return to the "sanctity in sisterhood," but she worries that women will pursue married men with or without the help of Ashley Madison.
This is a very emotional issue for Nicole, as she knows firsthand what it is like to be cheated on. The reality star hasn't talked a lot about ex-husband Joseph Mauriello on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but she was perfectly happy to mention him during the latest Girls in Heels podcast. She admitted that the end of her marriage was a direct result of her husband cheating. A fling or one-night stand would have been bad enough, but Nicole claimed that her husband's emotional infidelity was far worse. And while she's willing to place the majority of the blame on her ex, Nicole believes that the other woman in the equation made it possible by opening herself up emotionally to a man she knew was married.
