Jane the Virgin‘s sophomore season just keeps getting better! First, it was announced that singer Britney Spears will be appearing as herself. Now, another popular musician is heading to the telenovela for an episode.
On Monday, The CW announced that Kesha is joining Jane the Virgin in a guest-star capacity. Unlike Britney Spears, Kesha will not be playing herself or Rogelio’s nemesis. However, she will get on the bad side of one character.
Kesha is playing Annabelle, Jane’s neighbor who is a rocker and isn’t a “baby person.” I’m already imagining the great scenes between Kesha and Gina Rodriguez. Annabelle will learn quickly not to mess with Jane or her baby boy. I have a feeling after Annabelle sees baby Mateo (that is, if Jane can get him back from Sin Rostro), Annabelle will change her tune. Seriously, he is one cute baby. Oh, and seeing as Kesha is playing a rocker that means fans will hear her sing, right? Here’s hoping!
Anyways, Kesha is set for the second episode, and she couldn’t be more thrilled. As you can see below, Kesha shared her excitement via Twitter.
JTV executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman said in a statement, “We are so thrilled Kesha will be appearing on Jane! We are all huge fans of hers, and we are so excited to welcome her to the Jane the Virgin family.”
The second season of the critically acclaimed series can’t be stopped. Which pop star will be cast next? Anyone else hoping for Ricky Martin, so he can shake his hips alongside Rogelio?
Jane the Virgin returns Monday, Oct. 12, at 9/8c on The CW.
