Kaitlyn Bristowe has come under fire for her recent Instagram picture with fiancé, Shawn Booth, and it’s not hard to see why.
Bristowe and Booth did a photo shoot to promote Vancouver Candle Co.’s candles, and fans are calling them out for their fake, awkward pose, and the fact that she is using her social media account for product placements.
Bristowe captioned the pic, “Candles have to be in my top 3 favourite [sic] things ever! It’s all about setting the mood right. Thanks for the candles @VancouverCandleCo… Stoked to find out that they are handmade and are clean burning!!! My place is smellin’ reeeeal good right now.”
The post was followed by several hashtags and a promotional code for her fans — and the negative comments have been swift and fast.
“blech. Total overkill,” one fan wrote. And countless others shared the same sentiments, with comments including, “that’s it unfollowing so many sponsored posts,” “Ad overload!!! Don’t sell out so fast,” “do you have a job or are you just living off product placement?” and “AD OVERKILL.”
But there are also fans who are most upset that the couple would exploit their love in the name of advertising — does that cheapen it?
“this is the most awkward picture hahaha,” one fan wrote.
Other comments include, “Bummer this has turned into a paid infomercial page. Love seeing you two happy but enough with the sales pitch for all these products,” and “Love these two but would like see real pics without advertising.”
Bristowe certainly can’t please everyone.
