Kim Richards' family is reportedly forcing her to be hospitalized
Is Kim Richards relapsing?
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum is already facing a mountain of personal troubles after she was arrested for shoplifting from a Target in San Fernando Valley, near Los Angeles. Now, Us Weekly reports that multiple sources have confirmed that concerned family members have had the reality star hospitalized.
"Her family checked her in," one source told the magazine. "She wants to get out ASAP, but her family refuses."
Richards was arrested Aug. 2 and accused of stealing more than 100 items from the store, totaling more than $600, a Los Angeles City Attorney told reporters. She spent that night in jail but was released the next day, Aug. 3, on $5,000 bail.
Richards has pleaded not guilty to that crime, and her first court appearance is on Aug. 20. Previously, she was arrested for public intoxication, battery and resisting arrest after a drunken confrontation with police officers at a Beverly Hills hotel last spring. The string of legal trouble pushed Richards to check into multiple rehab facilities, and she told Entertainment Tonight in an interview last month that she's getting her life back in order.
"I love sobriety," she said during the July 22 interview. "I've always loved sobriety, and relapsing was very hard for me. It was not easy. I have to say, don't take this wrong, but I really wanted to go to treatment because I needed a break from what I was going through at home."
Her home struggles include a terminally ill husband and a son who is "not well," Richards said.
Richards hasn't commented on reports of her latest hospitalization, and sources were unable to reveal the reason behind the stay.
