RHOC's Meghan King Edmonds slammed for disrespecting husband's late ex-wife
Ever since she joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Meghan King Edmonds hasn't exactly been racking up the fans. But her recent strange behavior after the passing of husband Jim Edmonds' ex-wife has people downright outraged at the reality star — and it's kinda hard to blame them.
If you've seen any episodes of this season of Real Housewives of Orange County, you probably have an opinion on new girl Meghan King Edmonds. Meghan, wife of baseball great Jim Edmonds, got under people's skin after she unnecessarily went off on fellow housewife Shannon Beador after Beador didn't stop what she was doing to help her out with a charity event she was throwing. Meghan also had viewers scratching their heads at her relationship with her husband's ex-wife, LeAnn Edmonds Horton, who was sick with cancer. The two women were friends, which was incredibly beautiful and mature to see, but there was something that fans of the show — and the other housewives — found somewhat odd about the relationship.
Sadly, LeAnn passed away this week after losing her battle with colon cancer. Her daughters, who expressed their feelings on Instagram, are clearly (and understandably) heartbroken about losing their mom. However, Meghan, who no doubt is extremely upset about LeAnn's passing as well, went and did something sort of odd afterwards: She dyed her hair pink, gave an interview and went on Watch What Happens Live.
Meghan sat down for an interview with HuffPost Live five days after LeAnn's death with neon-colored hair, and, to put it bluntly, she seriously annoyed fans. Meghan said some beautiful things about her husband's late ex-wife, and added that she dyed her hair because "life is short." But that didn't stop the comments from rolling in. Take a gander at Meghan's interview and then let's talk comments.
As you can see, Meghan certainly didn't say anything remotely disrespectful about LeAnn but, as someone who happened to lose their mother to cancer, I can see how the pink hair and the interview less than a week later wouldn't sit well with people.
Here are some of the comments.
While some of these comments are a bit harsh, I kind of have to agree that Meghan's behavior is a tad strange right now and may make LeAnn's children feel slightly uncomfortable. Like Meghan said, everyone grieves in their own way, but I'm not sure how I'd feel if I saw photos like this on Instagram of my stepmom less than a week after my mother died.
The important thing is that from the looks of things on the show, at least, it seems that Meghan has a close relationship with LeAnn's children, who are Meghan's stepkids. Going through life without a mother is a truly terrible thing, so let's all hope that Meghan can fill that void to the best of her ability. But for the record, it might be hard for the kids to take her seriously with that colored hair. Just saying.
