Josh and Anna Duggar give fourth child a beautiful Welsh name

Josh Duggar and his wife Anna took to social media to announce the birth of their daughter. But did they stick to the Duggar tradition of first names that start with “J”? We reveal the name below.

Though it’s not quite the brood Josh Duggar grew up with, he and his wife Anna now have four children. On Twitter, they announced the birth of their daughter, Meredith Grace Duggar, who weighed 7 lbs., 14 oz. and was 20.5 inches long.

Meredith is a Welsh name, once only given to male children, and means “great sea.” The newborn has three siblings: Marcus, 2, Michael, 4, and Mackynzie, 5.

Josh Duggar has been at the center of a sexual abuse controversy in which he’s accused of molesting several young girls, including four of his sisters, when he was a teen. The scandal caused TLC to cancel his family’s reality show, 19 Kids and Counting.

In May 2015, Josh Duggar resigned from his job at the Family Research Council, where he was executive director of FRC Action, the nonprofit political action and lobbying arm of the FRC. His resignation was a result of the sexual abuse allegations.

We can only imagine how Josh must be feeling to finally be celebrating some good news and hopefully starting a new chapter in his life.

Beginning in 2008 as 17 Kids and Counting, the show starred real estate agent Jim Bob Duggar, his wife, Michelle, and their 17 kids. Jim Bob and Michelle have since had two more children, bringing the total count of their offspring to 19. All their children have names starting with the letter “J”.

Jim Bob and Michelle have stirred up their own controversy stemming from their conservative religious practices, including not using birth control, homeschooling their kids and advocating sexual abstinence (including from kissing) before marriage.
