Mama June to TLC: Cancel 19 Kids and Counting or else
Here comes Mama June.
As the walls all begin to fall around the Duggars' empire in the wake of Josh Duggar's child molestation allegations, one former TLC star is already pointing out the network's obvious and blatant double standard.
While news reports were breaking, and the story of Josh Duggar's molestation allegations were going viral on the internet, TLC was busy airing a marathon of 19 Kids and Counting.
Now, I admittedly don't know how television programming works, but I have to believe that someone could have pulled the plug on that airing. It is clearly in bad taste to be showing it when such terrible things are being alleged against one of the major cast members, implicating his parents and being against some of his sisters. All of it is just terrible if true.
And Twitter picked up on it right away.
But that wasn't the only problem with airing the marathon and disgraced Here Comes Honey Boo Boo's matriarch was quick to point that out, too.
Mama June Shannon's show on TLC was canceled after reports surfaced that she was dating a convicted child molester, a claim she refutes. TLC almost immediately canceled and stopped airing her show. So imagine her surprise to tune in to the 19 Kids marathon whilst the Duggars are in the thick of these terrible allegations. And it doesn't appear she is going to take is laying down.
While speaking with TMZ, she made the very obvious point that she never molested anyone, and Mark McDaniel (the convicted offender) wasn't ever on the show while Josh Duggar is a central character and figure on the 19 Kids series and has openly admitted to molesting some of his sisters.
She tweeted the reply of "exactly," in response to the tweet, “#honeybooboo got x’d for june ASSOCIATING w/a child molester. One of #19Kids IS a child molester and #tlc runs a marathon.”
She then said, "But I wasn't dating one no they r going to not cancel them it’s f***ed up @TLC"
According to TMZ, Shannon is planning on suing TLC for its "blatantly unfair and inconsistent treatment."
And while I do not condone associating with a child molester (or whatever the real story is in Mama June's case) I do have to wholeheartedly agree with this statement of hers: "I read that the Duggar family said, this happening with their son brought them closer to God and each other. So they're saying it's ok to have family touch time? Hell no."
Hell no, indeed, Mama June.
