George Clooney's biggest proposal fear makes him sound like an old man
The notoriously private George Clooney finally has something he's willing to talk about and that's the love of his life, Amal Alamuddin. This morning he opened up to Charlie Rose and it was pretty great.
CBS This Morning's Charlie Rose caught Clooney on his Tomorrowland press tour on Tuesday and we couldn't be more enthralled with his comments on his lovely wife. While they spent time talking about the much-anticipated film, Clooney also opened up about his proposal — and it was pretty funny. It turns out, Clooney had some interesting worries. When most dudes are down on one knee, they're worried their girl might say no. Clooney, though? He was concerned he'd break something.
"Finally, I just said, 'Listen.' You know, I'm 53 at the time or 52, I think, at the time, and I said, 'You know, I've been on my knee now for about 28 minutes,'" he said. "So I gotta get an answer out of this, 'cause I'm gonna throw a hip out."
Almost half an hour? We can't imagine needing that long to answer Clooney's proposal. Then again, that's probably why he proposed to a woman like Amal instead of ladies like us. Of course, it doesn't help that his human rights attorney girlfriend didn't actually have a warning of what was to come. According to the actor, his proposal came as a complete surprise.
"I knew fairly quickly that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Amal," he admitted (and we all swooned). "But, you know, I have to say, when I asked her... we had never talked about it... there wasn't, like, 'Hey, maybe we should get married.' I literally dropped it on her."
Aw! Talk about cute. Clooney went on to talk about Amal's effect on his life and how she's completely changed his outlook. The interview was absolutely adorable. Watch it below.
