Rebel Wilson addresses the lies she's been telling about her age
Has Australian actress Rebel Wilson been lying about her age? According to Woman's Day, she has, and instead of being age 29, like she claims, she's actually 36.
Wilson's life story is a pretty interesting one as she claims that she's lived in Zimbabwe for a while and only pursued her acting dreams after contracting malaria in Mozambique. But, according to a former classmate, the actress actually had a "very normal" upbringing.
"She's clearly got a vivid imagination," a source told the publication. "Maybe you have to tell stories to make it in Hollywood!"
"I studied with Rebel at Tara Anglican School for Girls in North Parramatta, Sydney," the source revealed. "But no-one [sic] knew of a Rebel Wilson. Her name is — or was — Melanie Elizabeth Bownds, and she's 36 — she was born in 1979 and we left school in 1997."
But her name and her age are reportedly not the only fibs that Wilson has been telling because, according to the source, she did not come from a "ghetto." And it might also surprise you to learn that although Wilson's Hollywood star is on the rise, thanks to her comedic skills, she never cracked a joke at school.
"She was definitely not the class clown; none of us remember her being funny," the source said.
So, what does Wilson have to say about these claims?
Taking to Twitter on Monday, the Pitch Perfect actress responded in a brilliant and completely hilarious way.
What is Wilson's real age you ask? According to The Sydney Morning Herald, "Business records filed with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) list the date of birth for a "Rebel Melanie Elizabeth Wilson" as March 2, 1980."
So, folks, that means she's actually age 35.
