Chrissy Teigen made a gross comment about hubby John Legend at the BBMAs
Well that was awkward! Chrissy Teigen just introduced husband John Legend as "like a brother" to her... and that's not the only weird moment between the two tonight.
Seriously, Chrissy, what is going on?
At the start of the evening, after Ludacris talked about his music accomplishments, Teigen followed his remarks with her crowning glory: marrying John Legend. She literally exclaimed, "And I bang a musician." Aside from making us roll our eyes, the remark didn't seem that memorable, but when you add it to the other weirdo comments she's been making about her husband tonight, we have to wonder what her deal is!
Teigen later introduced her husband as "like a brother" to her just before he sang a beautiful duet with Meghan Trainor, and then made everyone uncomfortable by saying, "Wow you guys had a lot of natural chemistry up there. I guess it's OK, but that was pretty good, right? Not bad. I'm a little jealous but..."
Um, talk about underselling a performance! The duet was flawless, but afterwards everyone was just talking about Teigen's strange comments.
But perhaps our favorite Teigen/Legend gaffe came when she sat in his lap in the audience and pouted about him being too into Meghan Trainor. "I think you were a little too into that bass," said Teigen. "You told me you didn't care about bass."
Legend replied, "I like bass and treble baby."
To which Teigen pouted, "Oh, I'm your treble. Thanks a lot." As if it's the worst thing ever.
Which just goes to show that you can be a Sports Illustrated model, host the Grammys, be married to a super-talented musician and still be insecure, jealous and, well, totally awkward.
