How Arrow's Sara Lance will return from the dead for the spin-off (VIDEO)
Caity Lotz will be starring in Arrow and The Flash spin-off as the White Canary, but how the heck is she coming back from the dead?
Well, we finally have the answer, thanks to the first trailer for DC's Legends of Tomorrow from the network's upfront presentation.
The nearly four minute first look at the new show reveals Sara will be returning in the same way Thea was brought back from the dead (for those of you who watch Arrow). She will get a nice hot bath in the Lazarus Pits, which was under the control of Ra's al Ghul and the League of Assassins. The pits are extremely powerful and can heal injuries and bring people back from the dead.
Since Sara has been dead and buried for quite a while now, there's no word how the pit will affect her yet, other than turning her Black Canary white, but the pit is known for having consequences. As EM points out, we might be dealing with a very different Sara on our hands in the spin-off.
Though not much else is known about the series as of now, the official logline shared, "Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunger (Arthur Darvill) is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstable threat — one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?"
At first, many (including me) theorized the show might be a prequel of sorts, to accommodate Sara's character as an integral part of the show, but this summary seems to prove otherwise. Though I'm still hoping for some backstory in there.
The show will also star Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/The Atom, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Victor Garber as Martin Stein/Firestorm, Ciara Renee as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl and Franz Drameh as Jay Jackson.
The show is expected to premiere in the midseason next year. Check out the trailer below.
