During last night’s episode of Teen Mom, Tyler Baltierra made some comments about his fiancée Catelynn Lowell’s pregnancy weight gain that would rightfully make any woman upset.
The couple, both 23 years old, were expecting their second child together. While they gave up the first for adoption because they were both teenagers at the time, the two are now dedicated to raising baby No. 2 together and doing things right his time around.
Tyler, who is usually extremely supportive of Catelynn, for some reason decided to hound her about her weight gain.
“I read online that in the first four months you should only be gaining 5-9 pounds,” Tyler said to his fiancée.
Catelynn has gained 20 and Tyler said it’s because “[she’s] ignoring it.”
And as Catelynn responded perfectly, “In any girl’s mind they would be like, ‘Shut the f*** up.’ I know I’m fat and I am going to get fatter. So you’re either going to love me or not! I feel like I can’t enjoy my pregnancy. If I crave a slice of pizza, I’m going to eat a slice of pizza, even if it puts 2 pounds on me or not.”
Tyler should have taken the hint right then and there and ordered his beautiful pregnant fiancée a pizza with whatever she wanted on it as the start of his apology. Commenting on a woman’s weight gain at any time, let alone when she’s carrying your child, is a huge no-no. Furthermore, every pregnancy is different. And we all know that online medical sources should be viewed with some healthy skepticism.
Of course, Tyler may have made up for his rude comments with all the sweet ones he’s posted about Catelynn on Instagram. Remember, the show is quite a few months behind.
Tyler has yet to comment on last night’s episode on social media.
In happier news, Tyler and Catelynn also spent part of last night’s episode discovering and revealing the sex of their baby. The two had a gender reveal party in which they ripped apart a piñata to unveil that they were having a baby girl.
