This year has gotten off to a rough start for the Kardashian-Jenner clan, and Rob Kardashian may have just made things a whole lot worse with a cryptic — and disturbing — Instagram post aimed at his sister, Kim Kardashian.
On Sunday, Rob shared a picture of Rosamund Pike as her Gone Girl character, “amazing” Amy Dunne.
In the image — which he shared on Instagram with his 2.7 million followers — showed Pike covered in blood. Rob captioned the picture, “This is my sister kim, the bitch from Gone Girl,,,”
Hmm. Perhaps there is a benign explanation for this, no?
Maybe his account was hacked. After all, it wouldn’t be the first time a salacious post popped up on a celebrity account only to later be revealed as the work of a hacker.
Or maybe he was just trying to get in on the fun the rest of the internet has been having with Kim’s recently debuted bleached blonde bob — she’s been compared to everyone from Harry Potter‘s Draco Malfoy to fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld.
So it’s possible Rob was simply trying to point out the similarity of Kim’s ‘do to that of Pike’s character.
Still, it seems unlikely. Aside from the obvious shade Rob is throwing Kim by calling her a bitch, he chose a very specific character and a very specific scene to drive his point home.
In Gone Girl (spoiler alert, if you haven’t seen it yet!), Pike’s Amy fakes her own death, pins the blame on her adulterous husband, slits her ex-boyfriend’s throat and then traps her husband in their marriage by ultimately claiming she was the victim.
So, yeah… not exactly the kind of gal you’d hope your little brother might liken you to.
This isn’t the first time Rob has been on the outs with his family, though. When Kim got married to Kanye West in a lavish ceremony in Florence, Italy, last summer, TMZ reported that Rob was an emotional wreck after “major family drama” caused him to skip the wedding.
Shortly afterward, he deleted all his tweets. Sources claimed at the time that Kim was upset Rob hadn’t dropped some weight before her wedding, and Rob was fed up with Kim’s superficial ways.
The 28-year-old has been laying low the past few months and has clearly distanced himself from the family’s lucrative show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
But as recently as March 17 — Rob’s 28th birthday — all seemed to be well among the oft-beleaguered siblings.
Kim posted a message to her little brother on her Instagram page, saying, “Happy Birthday to my one and only brother Robbie!!!! I remember this Vegas party of yours like it was yesterday! I love you so much and can’t wait to share so many more memories with you! Kiki
In similarly confusing fashion, Rob just followed his entire family back on Instagram and, according to a source close to the family, Rob merely likes to “post things he thinks are funny and deletes and unfollows people.”
More food for thought: Season 10 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiered on Sunday night. Surely that’s a coincidence, right?
