Think you can keep up with Beyoncé? Think again.
When Queen Bey works out, she works out hard, and she’s got the video to prove it. She posted a video to her Instagram Wednesday that shows us all exactly how hard she works to keep that body looking good.
In the sped-up clip set to Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger,” Bey does a ridiculous number of standing oblique crunches, jump squats, lunges and punches with dumbbells, looking as fierce as she always does in casual workout gear, including a black tee and leggings.
“Celebrating the 5th anniversary of Let’s Move! #GimmeFive @michelleobama,” she wrote in the caption for the clip.
Michelle Obama, who spearheaded the Let’s Move! initiative to help more Americans, especially kids, get in shape, regrammed the “Drunk In Love” singer’s shout-out, adding her own caption to the clip.
“Double tap if you’re ready to work out with @Beyonce!” she wrote. “#GimmeFive of your workout drills (or you’ll disappoint the Beygency).”
Beyoncé has spoken publicly before about her strict workout regimen. She works with a trainer, Marco Borges, who sings the praises of the kind of interval training Queen Bey is doing in her video. Borges has said before that the super-intense workouts exercise several muscle groups at a time, allowing super-busy Bey to save time at the gym.
“I can’t eat what I want, and I can’t not go to the gym,” Beyoncé told Self magazine back in 2009. “The truth is it’s a lot of sacrifice. It’s more about your mental strength than physical strength. You have to push yourself.”
