John Travolta had a crack at breaking the internet

It was only a matter of time before people took to social media to express the true horror that was watching John Travolta get handsy with Scarlett Johansson on the red carpet and with Idina Menzel on the Oscars stage.

You just know his appearance alongside Idina Menzel was to make up for last year’s epic mispronunciation of the singer’s name, with Travolta instead calling her Adele Dazeem. You get points for trying, though, Travolta. Really, you do.

But, unfortunately, this year’s appearance was just as awkward as last year’s, as the actor got all handsy and touchy-feely with the Frozen singer, who gracefully laughed it off.

But the awkward moments didn’t stop there, with Travolta also attempting to give Scarlett Johansson a kiss on the cheek as he wrapped his arm around her waist while she was posing for the cameras on the red carpet. Scar-Jo’s icy glare said it all, really.

The Oscars may have been just a couple of days ago, but only now are people sharing memes poking fun at Travolta and, as a result, he is, again, becoming a social media sensation — this time with the unfortunate hashtag, #CreepyTravolta.

This meme sums up how uncomfortable Scar-Jo looks:

While John Travolta and “Creepy Uncle Joe” make a pretty good team:

At least John Travolta looks like he’s having a bit of fun here:

While some of the memes were truly disturbing:

And, of course, Kim Kardashian and Kanye couldn’t miss out on all the fun:

Travolta mightn’t have broken the internet, but he gave it a good crack:
