After a heartbreaking tragedy, Shayne Lamas is getting an incredible gift from her stepmother — and it is making her dreams come true.
The reality star lost her unborn baby boy and underwent a lifesaving hysterectomy last year after experiencing a near-fatal uterine rupture, and was devastated that she would never be able to have more children — until her stepmother came up with an incredible idea.
“When I found out I could never have kids again, I screamed at the top of my lungs,” Shayne, who is married to blogger Nik Richie with whom she has a daughter, told Closer Weekly. “My world shattered, my world was over. It was the worst moment of my life.”
But her stepmother Shawna, who is married to Shayne’s dad, former Renegade actor Lorenzo Lamas, came up with a plan.

“Shayne was really broken, but she didn’t understand her options,” Shawna, who works for a fertility agency connecting parents with surrogates and donor eggs, explained. “That’s my world — I understood her options.”
Shawna, who said she never wanted children of her own and agreed with Lorenzo that they would not have any (he already has six from previous relationships), stepped up to the plate and offered to carry Shayne and Nik’s baby for them.

“My wife is going to give birth to a child that we’re not going to bring home,” Lorenzo said. “But it’s my grandchild, so we are going to have a great relationship with him and see him a lot. Our whole family is on board. I am looking forward to being a grandparent again — we are going to have fun with this little guy.”
“Shawna’s not just my stepmother, she’s like a soul sister,” Shayne gushed. “She’s an angel that blessed my whole family, including my father.”
The baby is due July 10.
