Shelley Smith bravely shaves her head after breast cancer diagnosis (PHOTOS)
After her breast cancer diagnosis in October, ESPN sports reporter Shelley Smith made a brave decision to share her journey with fans, and she's just taken the next step.
Smith has been giving her fans regular updates on her health and on Thursday, Feb. 19, she took to Twitter to share pictures of her decision to get her head shaved as she undergoes chemotherapy.
Sitting in a barber's chair, she captioned the pic, "Getting clipped by the best!! World famous Chuck Taylor. Yesterday Shaw, today me."
The ESPN correspondent, who has been with the network since 1997, also shared a picture of herself and her daughter Dylann, who has been by her side during this hard time. And judging by the caption, it's evident that Smith has not lost her sense of humor as she made a joke about herself, saying, "My daughter Dylann (the one w the hair) my moral support! I didn't cry!!"
Smith's decision to shave her head has been met by overwhelming support, and she chose to retweet one powerful message.
Just days before Smith's brave decision to shave off all her hair, she posted a picture of the first strand of her blond hair that had fallen out after her treatment.
We wish Smith all the best in her fight against cancer, and we will be rooting for her all the way.
