Disney Channel starlet, Dove Cameron, seems to be picking up right where Miley Cyrus' Hannah Montana left off.

The Liv and Maddie actress has a new single out, called "What a Girl Is," with an inspiring message for women everywhere, young and old, about being true to yourself.

The message from the video comes from a plotline in the show, where the boys start ranking the girls of Liv's (Cameron) school on a scale from one to 10 based on their looks. To take a stand against the number system, Liv releases the song across campus, proclaiming, "You don't have to change who you are to fit someone else's idea of what a girl is supposed to be," Liv explains before she belts out the girl power ballad.

"You are exactly what you're made to be, I swear," the empowering lyrics go. "Don't be afraid to just put yourself out there."

The video also shows girls entering science competitions, playing a game of basketball and dancing around without a care.

"I'll show you what a girl is/'Cause all of you is perfect," the chorus proclaims.

Even those rate-happy boys abandoned their numbers in the song just to have a good time, spreading the happiness that comes with confidence.

I love that Disney and Cameron are jumping on the empowering girls mission while also sending the message that we can all be part of the confidence movement together. Boys aren't excluded. It's also great to see a Disney star matching her positive message to her positive image. Keep it up, Cameron!
