Getting arrested is bad news no matter who you are, but is it just the first problem for former 16 and Pregnant star Valerie Fairman?

Fairman, who appeared on the hit MTV show's second season, was arrested Thursday in Newcastle, Delaware, along with seven other women as part of a prostitution sting executed by multiple law enforcement agencies, E! News reports.

Delaware State Police issued a statement about the operation, saying that one neighborhood, where Fairman and the other seven women were picked up, was targeted "in response to numerous citizen complaints about prostitution and other quality of life crimes that have been occurring." The site reports that the arrests were carried out in a joint effort by Delaware State Police New Castle County Governor's Task Force, Delaware State Police New Castle County Drug Unit, the New Castle County Police Department and the Wilmington Police Department.

Fairman, now 21, was the youngest of the eight women arrested — the others were in their 20s or 30s, and one, the oldest, was 54.

According to police, each woman was given a criminal summons for a court date scheduled later. According to TMZ, Fairman remained in police custody Friday afternoon.

The arrest itself is bad news, but there's no word on whether it will affect the young mom's custody of her daughter, Nevaeh Lynn.

According to E! News, Fairman was particularly popular on her season of 16 and Pregnant because of the drama she had with her baby daddy, Matt — especially one explosive fight in which she had to convince him the baby was actually his. She ended up ending the relationship, but by the time Nevaeh was born, Matt was seen on the show working on the relationship, seemingly ready to commit to fatherhood.
