Taylor Swift gives the best breakup advice to one of her heartbroken fans
Taylor Swift really cares about her fans, and this is evident by the time she takes to respond to them and their personal problems, including bullying and heartbreak. And now the "Shake It Off" hit maker has just given some amazing advice to one teen.
According to the New York Daily News, Swift received a message on Tumblr from a fan named Kelsey Andrew, who informed her idol of how her boyfriend had dumped her via text message.
"Taylor Swift, I hope you see this," Kelsey wrote. "We've been together for four months. He just texted me and told me he was done with me. Gave me no reason and kept trying to get me to do irrational things to get him back. Now he's calling me names and I just feel crumbled. I don't know what to do."
A few hours later Swift replied to her heartbroken fan, asking, "He ended it, just like that?"
"I thought he was forever, Taylor," the girl wrote — and what came next is truly awesome.
"Oh my God, I know," Swift told her fan. "It's so devastating to come to terms with speaking of someone in [the] past tense when you used to see them as your present and your future. But think about what he said. It will take a while for you to get those words out of your head."
She continued, advising the girl to not let her ex-boyfriend emotionally abuse her and to cut him out of her life for good.
"Heartbreak is awful enough," she wrote. "The fact that you have to endure this kind of emotional abuse is so wrong. I know it's hard, but I think it's time to utilize the 'block' feature on your phone. This is just damaging. Do you have to see him around?"
"So don't give him the chance to say more damaging things. There is nothing wrong with avoiding people who hurt you. You fell in love, no games. Now you're saying goodbye with no games. Protect yourself, please. I'm so sorry this happened."
In fact, the singer went one step further than just giving her fan advice, she also made her an epic breakup playlist.
"I made you a break up/moving on playlist: Stay Away – Charli xcx, Not Around – Montgomery Wings – HAERTS, Coffins – Misterwives, Sleep – Azure Ray, Begin Again – Measure," she wrote.
The world needs more people like Taylor Swift.
