Neil Patrick Harris reveals his beloved grandma died on Christmas Day
Neil Patrick Harris shared some heartbreaking news with fans on Tuesday, Dec. 30; his beloved grandmother Martha Jeanne Harris, has died.
The The How I Met Your Mother actor revealed that his grandma had died at the age of 92, and that her funeral and burial service will be held in her home city of Albuquerque, New Mexico. But he also took some time to reflect on what a wonderful woman she was.
"My grandma passed away on Thursday night, services are today. Martha Jeanne Harris was 92, lived a long, lovely life. We shared a birthday, 6/15. She'll be missed," he wrote alongside a picture from the service titled "In Loving Memory."
Martha's passing happened just one day after Harris shared photos of his adorable twins enjoying the festive season and eating a traditional feast of seven dishes on Christmas Eve.
The A Million Ways to Die in the West actor's late grandmother was his father Ronald's mother and she is survived by her six grandchildren, as well as her 13 great-grandchildren — which includes the actor's twins, Gideon and Harper, whom he shares with his husband David Burtka (the pair married in Italy this September).
No doubt Harris will always remember his beloved grandmother and their special connection on his birthday. Our thoughts and condolences are with the Harris family and all those who loved Martha during this sad time.
