Rumors have been circling that suggest that Playboy founder Hugh Hefner died on Sunday from natural causes, but is the report that has been causing an internet frenzy actually true?
Fans of the adult magazine businessman will be relieved to learn that the death report was a hoax, which came from a fake version of NBC called NBCToday.co. The site reported that the mogul had been found dead in the Playboy Mansion at age 88.
The fake story was shared nearly 500,000 times on Facebook alone, and reads, “Hugh Hefner, Founder and chief creative officer of Playboy Enterprises, was found dead of natural causes Sunday morning at his home, the Playboy Mansion, in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles police officer Jimmy N. Gardner.”
And shortly afterwards she posted a cryptic message about truth.
Hefner also took to Twitter to inform fans that he was having movie night — and as far as we know you cannot tweet when you’re dead!
Tonight's Mansion movie is "American Sniper."

Yes, Hefner is still kicking, but that didn’t stop countless fans wondering what had happened to him, and it’s not surprising because the hoax was rather detailed and even included incorrect quotes from a Los Angeles police officer.
It has been confirmed the Hugh Hefner isn't dead despite being very convincing.

I'm going to keep believing Hugh Hefner is dead until he shows up and gives me a compelling argument that he's not. PowerPoint would help.
