Betty White busts a move with a hippo and it's strangely awesome (VIDEO)
Betty White got an amazing Christmas present last night, and we all got to see it happen.
The 92-year-old former Golden Girl stopped by The Late Late Show and host, Craig Ferguson, had a plan to make hers a Christmas to remember. It turns out, White's favorite Christmas song is "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" — you know, that completely ridiculous one that's hardly a Christmas song at all (what else would be Betty White's favorite?). Ferguson had a choir on the show all set to serenade White with the ditty.
But that's not all. As White watched the choir with an absolutely adorable look of childlike glee on her face and clapped along with the song, a dancing purple hippo took to the stage. In no time, White was dancing with it.
It just gets more and more surreal as White dances with Ferguson and the giant, costumed hippo, and then later, a giant horse, as well. We're not entirely sure what's going on in this segment, but we do know that anything that makes Betty White's face light up brighter than the glow of all the Christmas lights in the world is fine by us.
It's a great ending for Ferguson's run as host of The Late Late Show — his last show will be Friday, with guest, Jay Leno. Leno is sure to be a great final guest, but after seeing the big ball of Christmas cheer that is Betty White busting a move with some animals, we're not sure if this one can be topped. What we do know is that we'll be waiting to see if Ferguson can pull it off.
