Eminem needs to check himself before he wrecks himself. The rapper is stirring up controversy yet again with some very graphic lyrics directed at Lana Del Rey.
Eminem is still keeping things classy, y’all! The rapper is no stranger to controversy, but this is just ridiculous. It’s like someone took a scandalous issue, dipped in controversy and wrapped it up in outrage…
Slim Shady’s freestyle in the new music video for “Shady CXVPHER” takes a stab at Lana Del Rey in a pretty shocking and graphic way, rapping that he would like to punch the singer in the face “like Ray Rice” — the NFL player caught assaulting his wife in an elevator on video footage. Can you believe that?
“But I may fight for gay rights, especially if they d**e/ Is more of a knockout than Janay Rice/ Play nice? Bitch I’ll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice, like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance/ ‘Til her head is banging on the railing, then celebrate with the Ravens,” Eminem raps.

How many levels of offence can we count there? Not only is Eminem referencing Ray Rice and his crime in a positive way, but he is actually openly stating he would like to commit the same offence. Is it not common knowledge that assault is not OK? We understand Eminem may be using a persona and does not necessarily believe in what he is rapping, but that doesn’t excuse the lyrics. These words came out of his mouth and have weight, whether he likes it or not.
What do you think of this business? Should the lyrics be censored?
