Billy Crystal is practically a legend, but sometimes we forget how amazing he is. The comedian’s latest interview on Today has reminded us why we love him so.

There is no doubt that Billy Crystal is a fantastic comedian, but we had almost forgotten how funny and incredible the man actually is. The 66-year-old actor stopped by Today on Tuesday to talk about his best friend, the late Robin Williams, his awesome book and his wife — while being an absolute riot!

It’s hard to pick our favourite parts of the interview, because Crystal is such a magnetic celebrity, but we have rounded up a few key moments. Side note: The comedian should totally tour Canada in the near future. We’d line up for that in seconds flat!

1. Robin Williams

The way Crystal talks about Williams is so heartbreaking. You can just tell how much he adored the late comedian. Crystal has been gifted with a talent for timing, which allows him to slip comedy into the most tragic moments and helps us relate to him — as evidenced by his tribute to Robin at the Emmys and this interview. What a stellar human being!

2. The endless humour

Those quotes from Crystal’s latest book, Still Foolin’ ‘Em: Where I’ve Been, Where I’m Going, and Where the Hell Are My Keys?, are absolutely brilliant. His ability to tap into universal experiences and turn them into jokes is unrivalled. Seriously, that “texting slang” for older people had us floored.

3. His wife

A long-lasting marriage in Hollywood is so rare. It’s almost impossible. Crystal has been married to his wife, Janice, for 44 years and is still smitten with her and “can’t imagine a day without her.” That’s love, people. It warms our hearts!

What did you think of the interview? Crystal’s book is available for purchase (has been for a while now), in case you want to laugh your butt off.
