By now you have probably heard of the now viral ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which has been slowly but surely taking over the vast internet, and if you haven’t heard of it, then you may be living under a rock. So what is this magical challenge all about, what is it for, and why is it happening?

The Ice Bucket Challenge is an activity whereby an individual dumps a bucket full of cold water and ice on their head or donates money to the ALS Association, benefiting research and sponsorship of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease). The challenge is usually set up as a dare, with the participant having 24 hours to complete the challenge and who must then nominate others to take it.

The challenge rose to extreme popularity this summer and has recently seen a surge in celebrity participation and donations (the campaign has already raised over $15 million!). Since we love to watch celebrities squirm in discomfort for charity, this challenge is really hitting all the right notes with our sadistic selves. Hence, we want to share some of our favourite celebrity participants, because it’s more fun to watch other people do it.
