Nick Jonas’ new single “Chains” is all grown up

He’s not a little boy anymore. Nick Jonas is back with a new single “Chains” off his untitled album and it’s completely different from anything we’ve ever heard from the singer before.

This is not a poppy finger-snapper like most of Jonas Brothers’ tunes. This is big boy stuff. Nick Jonas is back on the music scene with the first single “Chains” off his untitled forthcoming solo album with Island Records. And hot cross buns, this is one smooth song. Take a listen and try not to swoon.

Right? Right? This single — released on Thursday — has a very sexy R&B vibe to it and some super smooth vocals; Nick Jonas is definitely not a baby-child anymore. Which is even more evident in the cover art for the single and recent photos of the 21-year-old singer — he has blossomed into one spicy dish. Yes, we would like some fries with that.

It’s official: Jonas Brothers are no more >>

This upcoming record is Jonas’ first, since the 2010 Who I Am with The Administration. This is also his first musical venture since the attempt to reconcile with the Jonas Brothers, their eventual breakup and cancellation of the band’s tour last October. Needless to say, it’s time for some new Jonas music.

Are you excited for the Nick Jonas record? What do you think of “Chains?”
