Paul McCartney visits Graceland for the first time
This is so sweet! Paul McCartney visited Graceland for the first time and, as a major fan of Elvis Presley, left a gift on the grave of the famed performer.
One great man paying respects to another — we're impressed!
The former Beatle toured Graceland and placed a guitar pick on Presley's grave so "Elvis can play in heaven." The photo of the moment was shared with fans on Twitter.
McCartney was in Memphis to perform a show for his "Out There" tour.
The Beatles were greatly influenced by Elvis' music, and despite considering them a major threat to his career, he invited them to his home in Beverly Hills in 1965.
We think it's fantastic that McCartney visited Graceland and left such a symbolic gift for his idol. The fans will surely appreciate the subtle homage.
