First step to acceptance, right here.

Glee‘s Cory Monteith has checked in to rehab for substance abuse, with the support of his girlfriend and co-star, Lea Michele.

“Cory Monteith has voluntarily admitted himself into a treatment facility for substance addiction,” the actor’s rep told E! News. “He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery.”

Monteith has admitted to previous addiction problems, having dropped out of high school at 16 and stealing money from relatives for drugs before getting back on track.

Luckily Michele has his back, tweeting yesterday, “Feeling so grateful today.”

The Glee crew also sent their love to Monteith via rep, stating, “Cory is a beloved member of the Glee family and we fully support his decision to seek treatment. Everyone at the show wishes him well and looks forward to his return.”

We wish him the best of luck on the road to recovery.
