Always trying something new, Kid Cudi has signed up for a role in a DreamWorks adaptation of the popular racing game Need for Speed.
This news will hit you like a speeding car (get it?).
Kid Cudi (real name Scott Mescudi) has joined the DreamWorks adaptation of Electronic Arts’ game Need for Speed.
First of all, yes, there is going to be another adaptation of a video game. Thus far the track record of such an endeavour has been poor, but what do we know?
Cudi is joining Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad (yes, please!), Dominic Cooper (scooore!), Ramon Rodriguez (yup!), Harrison Gilbertson (thumbs up!), Rami Malek (excellent!) and Imogen Poots (gorgeous!) in the production. Scott Waugh will direct, and the film is slated for release on Feb. 7, 2014.
The film will tell a touching story of a street racer (Paul) who is framed for the death of a close friend and then embarks on a cross-country race in the name of revenge. Cudi will play a member of the racer’s crew.
Kid Cudi is more famous on the music playground but has been contributing to the world of cinema for quite a while. It’ll be interesting to see what he does with the role.
