Historical artifacts are in danger here! Lindsay Lohan is accused of defacing Elizabeth Taylor’s Cleopatra trailer used in the filming of her biopic.
The owner of the Elizabeth Taylor trailer used in the filming of Liz & Dick claims it was trashed and is pointing the fickle finger of judgment at Lohan.
The trailer, used by Taylor on the set of Cleopatra, was bought by Angel Alger back in June. But since it was still under contract, Alger was obligated to deliver it to Silver Screen Pictures for the Liz biopic. She claims $100,000 worth of damages, including cigarette burns, broken mirrors and a missing rocking chair Taylor sat in every day after filming.
“I was specifically told that it would come back in pristine condition and in even better condition than it was at that time,” Alger told CNN. “Only a psychotic and rebellious person or people would steal irreplaceable museum belongings and leave it in this vandalized condition.”
The owner of the lavish dressing room suspects Lohan is responsible for the damages, after a studio employee told Alger the actress and friends had access to the trailer every night after filming. Although she admits lacking evidence, Alger collected the cigarette butts for proof.
Lohan’s rep stated the actress loved Taylor and would never deface her possessions.
“This has nothing to do with Lindsay,” Steve Honig said. “You should ask the producers about it.”
The studios have not issued any statement concerning the vandalism.
What do you think? Lindsay? Not Lindsay? Maybe the producers had a little after-party in the trailer post-shooting… Whoever did it clearly does not respect history.
