Jennifer Lopez is enjoying every moment of her life – and is loving it! The triple threat diva opens up to Vogue about her life, career and family and how she is constantly growing as a person.
Jennifer Lopez is ready to show people who she really is.
The American Idol judge opens up to Vogue for their April “Shape” issue, and talks about her extremely busy music, acting and dancing career, her family and how she finally has started to believe in herself with the help of her ex-husband and singer Marc Anthony.
“He always told me what a beautiful voice I have. He was like, ‘It’s in there; you just gotta let it out. It’s a confidence thing with you,’” says Jennifer in the interview to Vogue. “People are not giving me jobs because they feel sorry for me! I am an actress. I am a singer. I am a performer. That’s what I do! Once I started giving myself a little credit, the whole world opened up.”
Jennifer, who has been nothing but busy, has been in the spotlight full-force, especially after her splitting from Marc Anthony after seven years of marriage. J. Lo says it has been very hard to deal with the split, especially since the two still work together for their reality talent show, ¡Q’Viva!: The Chosen and are parents to four-year-old twins, Emme and Max.
“We’re still friends—and we’re parents. But it’s going to take time. It’s tough. But for the most part, I feel very proud of the way we’re handling it. I really do. We are doing the best we can for the kids,” says Jennifer.
But the What to Expect When You’re Expecting actress says she is trying to get past her hardships and enjoy her newfound life and journey, while channeling the inner cougar of hers with her newest beau, Casper Smart, who she shyly talks about in the interview.
“He’s adorable. But you already see that. He is. He really is. He’s a good egg. I don’t want to talk about it too much. It’s my private thing.”
But what’s really inspiring in this entire interview is that Jennifer honestly admits that no one really knew how much of a darling she really was before her gig on American Idol, which she now says finally gives people the opportunity to see the real her.
“…this is a great time because I feel like people really, finally know me.”
