Bryce Dallas Howard gives birth to a baby girl
The beautiful red-headed actress welcomed her second child, a baby girl, into the world last Thursday -- and Grandpa Ron couldn't be happier.
It's a girl for Bryce Dallas Howard!
The Hollywood up-and-comer gave birth to Beatrice Jean Howard-Gabel, who weighed in at 8 lbs, 6 oz last Thursday. This is the second child for the up-and-coming actress who also has a son, Theo, with husband Seth Gabel.
The birth of Bryce's baby girl couldn't come at a better time, either. The daughter of the famous movie director, Ron Howard, has been in the limelight for quite some time after nailing various roles in movie blockbusters including The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and the recent movie hit, The Help.
During her first pregnancy with her now four-year-old son, Bryce opened up about her experiences with postpartum depression on Gwyneth Paltrow's blog, Goop.
According to US Weekly, the actress said that she felt she was failing as both a mom and an actress. She said she got through the hard time by reading Brooke Shields' personal-account novel on postpartum called Down Came the Rain and from the support of those around her.
"I feel…deep gratitude for those who stood by me, for the lesson that we must never be afraid to ask for help," says Bryce in an excerpt she wrote on the Goop blog.
And she's definitely getting the support she needs this time around.
Ron Howard, who excitedly first tweeted the news, has been receiving congratulatory tweets since Saturday from well-wishers -- even from Bryce's The Help costar, Octavia Spencer, who tweeted: "Beatrice Jean Howard-Gabel Born Jan 19 2012 8lbs 6oz Congrats Ron from bryce's help family! : - ) !"
