Love, Loss and What I Wore
Toronto audiences love the critically acclaimed Canadian production of the multi-award winning hit Love, Loss, and What I Wore. Written by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, it is based on the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman that continues to run at Toronto's Panasonic Theatre until October 30.
Love, Loss, and What I Wore began its theatrical run Off-Broadway. It is a collection of stories that uses memories of clothing and accessories to tell about the lives of a number of women.
The book was written by a woman who wanted to leave her life's memories to her grandchildren by the clothes that she wore. Nora Ephron and her sister Delia explored, reviewed, collected and interviewed many woman. Quite a few of the monologues speak about parents, moms in particular. The memories they trigger tell stories covering some of life's most funny and poignant moments.
The current cast of Love, Loss and What I Wore, until October 2nd, includes fashionista Jeanne Beker of CTV's Fashion Television, Multi-award winning Luba Goy of CBC TV's Royal Canadian Air Farce fame, Barbara Budd, whose voice became recognized around the world as co-host of CBC Radio's "As It Happens" for 17 years and Gemini, Genie and Dora Award-winning Sheila McCarthy, who many will recognize from the CBC-TV's hit series Little Mosque on the Prairie.
Also included in this cast is the rising young star, Jane McLean, who is featured in the film, The Time Traveler's Wife and the soon-to-be released, Running Mates with Henry Winkler.
A new cast will come into play on October 7 and will feature-multi-Gemini Award winner and Genie nominee, actor Leah Pinsent, opera singer and Canada's foremost musical comedienne Mary Lou Fallis. And Stacey Farber of CTV's Degrassi: The Next Generation fame and currently stars in CBC-TV's 18 To Life.
