Jimmy Kimmel enlisted the help of Meghan Trainor to get the Thanksgiving spirit flowing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday. And boy, will you be glad that he did!
“There are literally thousands and thousands of Christmas songs, but I think that the closest thing we have to a Thanksgiving song is the theme from The Golden Girls,” Kimmel joked, “and that to me is unacceptable.”
And so with that, the funnyman introduced the “All About That Bass” hit maker’s “new album,” which he claimed would soon become a “Thanksgiving holiday classic” and would help to address the problem with the lack of Thanksgiving songs.
In a super-cheesy pre-taped video, Trainor debuts her parody tracks as she sings around a table filled with a Thanksgiving feast fit for a king. Seriously, how good does that turkey look?
Dressed in a sweater and black skirt, Trainor belts out some of the tracks, including “I’m Not Bringing Leftovers on the Plane, Mom,” “Uncle Dan Hates Obama (And Won’t Shut Up About Benghazi)” and “My Flight Got Canceled in Denver (I’ll Be Sleeping at an Airport Quiznos Tonight).”
And if you were hoping to get your hand on this album, then according to the video it’s “available at Walgreen’s.” LOL!
These tracks don’t have quite the same ring to them as Christmas carols do, but they have certainly achieved their purpose and will have you all in a fit of giggles.
Kick-start your holidays and watch the hilarious Thanksgiving segment below.
