Sean Penn and Charlize Theron's hike in Vasquez Rocks in Santa Clarita, California, didn't go according to plan on Thursday after a hiker called the police on the A-list couple.

Things appear to be going very well between Penn and Theron, but on Thursday their outing in nature took a very sour turn. The actress, her new boyfriend and her adopted son Jackson were meant to be enjoying a fun picnic hike, but according to TMZ, another hiker called the cops on the couple after she suspected that they could have been mistreating Theron's son.

A female hiker came across Theron's screaming toddler while he was having a tantrum and she was very concerned for his well-being. The woman approached the crying little boy and according to TMZ, she began filming him, but the A Million Ways to Die in the West actress intervened and told her to leave her son alone.

The woman then left and called the cops, claiming that she was afraid that something bad might have happened to the toddler because he was so upset, the site reports. However, police arrived at the scene shortly afterwards, only to discover that there was nothing wrong and that what had actually happened was that Jackson was having a time-out, meaning that no one was allowed to have physical contact with him.

Officers left the scene shortly afterwards and no further action will be taken, but no doubt the couple's sunrise picnic was completely destroyed.

Tell us: Do you think the hiker was right to call the cops because she was concerned about the well-being of a child, or should she not have gotten involved?
