Andy Dick has a long history of getting in trouble with the law, but this arrest is downright embarrassing.
Early this morning, TMZ reported that comedian Andy Dick had been arrested for allegedly stealing a necklace worth $1,000 off the neck of a fan, who recognized Dick as he was riding his bike. The unidentified man said Dick asked to get a closer look at the necklace and then ripped it off his neck. Dick sped away on his bicycle before the man could pursue him.
The necklace owner did what any celebrity theft victim should do — no, not tweet about it. He reported the incident to the Los Angeles Police Department.
On Friday night, local coppers saw Dick, again on his bicycle, and arrested him. Luckily, he was able to post his $25,000 bail and is back on his bicycle. There has been no word on where exactly the necklace in question is currently located.
We have to admit, the fact that Sharknado 2: The Second One actor rides a bike around Hollywood is suspicious. Considering that Los Angeles is the land of cars, we can only assume that Dick’s had his driver’s license revoked, which wouldn’t surprise us at all. Perhaps Dick hasn’t had the chance to download the Uber app yet. If he learns anything from this incident, we hope that it’s not to slum around Hollywood on a two-wheeler. It’s just gauche.
The actor has had a long struggle with drugs and alcohol. However, Dick danced himself to seventh place on the 16th season of Dancing With the Stars, and his career seemed to be heading in a good direction recently.
Dick’s voice can be heard in the film L.A. Slasher, coming in 2015. The movie also stars Misha Barton and Drake Bell.
