What would your reaction be if a rock star punched you out and then kicked you while you were down? We're willing to bet you'd react differently than this fan did when that exact situation happened to him.

Lead singer of the punk rock band, NOFX, was caught on video hitting a fan during a Wednesday show in Australia, not just once, but twice. It looks like grounds for a lawsuit for sure, but the young fan said later he isn't planning to seek retribution — in fact, he apologized for the incident.

The show was held at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. NOFX, like most punk outfits, is known for pretty rowdy shows, but this gig took a seriously unexpected turn when the fan, named Alex, jumped on the stage and grabbed lead singer, Fat Mike, around the shoulders.

According to TMZ, Fat Mike had already told the audience earlier in the show that he was suffering from some neck pain, which accounts for what happened next: He whipped around, slammed his arm into Alex's face, knocked him to the ground and then kicked him while he was down. Seriously. You can see the whole altercation in the video below.

But what happened next was even weirder: Alex took to Twitter to apologize to Fat Mike.

"Thanks for the KO mike, didn't hurt too much," he wrote. "Soz for creepin up on you like, punk shows are a bit different down here."

And Fat Mike returned the sentiment, tweeting back at Alex, "I'm sorry too Alex, I was in terrible pain all night. When you grabbed me by the neck I defensively reacted... offensively."

It's a surprisingly civil exchange, considering what we saw happen in that video.
