Gavin Smith's body found: 4 Strange things about his case
It's been two years since Fox executive Gavin Smith went missing, and now according to KTLA 5 News, his body has been found by hikers Sunday in a remote area of Palmdale, California. However, the case seems to be far from over because there are a lot of strange things that have been discovered over the last two years.
1. Gavin Smith went missing over two years ago
The Fox executive went missing over two years ago and was last seen on May 1, 2012 in Oak Park, California. His body has now been found and according to KTLA 5 News, The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office has reported that Smith's body was found in a rural area of Palmdale near the Angeles National Forest.
2. His car was found in 2013
Smith's car, a black Mercedes Benz E420, was found in February 2013 in a Simi Valley, California, storage facility. The facility was connected to convicted drug dealer John Creech.
3. Smith's death was ruled a homicide
In May 2014, two years after Smith went missing, a death certificate was issued for him on the basis of evidence found. According to Variety, Creech was named a person of interest but has not been charged with Smith's murder. He is, however, currently serving an eight-year sentence in prison on drug charges.
4. Smith was allegedly having an affair
At the time of his disappearance it was believed that Smith was having an affair with Creech's wife, Chandrika Creech, who he met while in a rehab facility, the Daily Mail reports.
A cause of death has not yet been determined, as autopsy results were not finalized, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Nicole Nishida said, according to KTLA 5.
The story is still developing.
