Movember is a glorious time of year where normally clean-shaven guys feel the freedom to grow out their mustaches, all in the name of raising awareness for men’s health, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.
It looks like Justin Bieber decided to partake in Movember this year (whether intentionally or not), but he isn’t doing so great so far.
The singer posted a photo of himself with his wisp of a mustache on social photo site, Shots, according to USA Today.
According to the Movember organization, the rules of Movember are: “1. Each mo bro must begin the 1st of November with a clean shaven face, 2. For the entire month of November, each mo bro must grow and groom a mustache, 3. Don’t fake it. No beards, no goatees, no fake mustaches, 4. Use the power of the mustache to create conversations about men’s health and raise funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health, and 5. Each mo bro must conduct himself like a true gentleman…”
To be fair, it’s not clear if Bieber meant to take part in the movement, but he is bringing awareness to it either way, because now everyone is talking about his sad effort.
This isn’t the first time Bieber has sported a little mustache. The singer grew out — or, attempted to grow out — a mustache back in August, but gave up before there were any real results.
The rest of the month will tell us whether Bieber has what it takes to grow a real mustache. But for now, it seems like we shouldn’t hold our breath.
